Do you have a backup ISP in case your main one fails?

What country are you from, don't you have to pay extra for tethering?

Due to the bs of android?

Just curious, I wondered because some phone providers don't have that covered in unlimited plans.

At least in USA, I hope you don't have that problem.

I have Verizon for phone service, and my current plan allows for "mobile hotspot," though it does let you tether to a computer. Things have improved a little bit in terms of mobile service providers in the U.S. In recent years both Verizon and AT&T have been "going unlimited" with their data. They just throttle speeds after so much data is consumed depending on the plan to "avoid network congestion."

It's not a feature I use every day. My main ISP is Spectrum, which also doesn't have data caps. I suspect that Google Fiber, though it's no longer expanding in the US, has shamed some ISPs to improve what they have (that and more demand for streaming video and the like). That is back up and running again (it was a physical configuration outside that was the issue).

The cool thing is that there are routers out there than support USB tethering as well, so I'll go that route should a backup be needed for the living quarters.
