Hello,

I just want to ask if there is a possiblility for downloading only the latest emails (eg last three days or week) from email server (pop3/smtp standard) using free Evolution Mail?

Or is there no option for this in pop3/smpt standard?

It would be nice if someone could explain me. I looked for a while but only found something about thunderbird.

I'm not aware of any, but do you really need to do that? I can't think of a reason for it.

I've got two accounts with such a huge number of mails on it (also due to spam). The last time I moved mails on the provider server it was so time intensive that I got very tired.

Now I m just looking for this option in the client to download only the latest ones.

Further I thought it would be nice to have this feature on a live cd for fast getting your new mails

Well, maybe it would be better to just let the emails flood Evolution, then delete them all? You should be able to select them all pretty quickly (I'm able to use Ctrl+A in Thunderbird to select all of the mails in my inbox; I'm not sure about Evolution, but it should be similarly easy). Just make sure the host is set to delete mails from the server after they're forwarded via POP3.

You can create a filter rule based on the date, so that the messages previous to that date will be eliminated, placed in a folder, etc.

thank you onpon4 and jbar for helping me!

Now I ve given me a kick and I moved all the mails on the server to the archive. Problem is mainly solved. But nontheless I would be happy if there was possibility for dl only the last 3 days.
