Features removed for non-DRM version of Shadowrun game

I was reading today at http://www.gamespot.com/news/shadowrun-returns-will-be-released-in-june-6406700 about how Shadowrun Returns will be released this June for Windows, Mac, and GNU/Linux but there are a few catches:
* If you buy via Steam (with DRM of course), you will have access to the full experience including user generated and downloadable content.
* If you buy the non-DRM version, you can still play the game, but will not be able to use user generated content or have access to downloadable content.
So with that in mind, do you see this as a disturbing trend? On one hand you play the DRM route to play it "safe" but then also appease the DRM haters by releasing the game without it but at the same time giving them a watered down experience.
Choose the third option
* If you don't buy the game, you still have access to your funds and can find something more productive to do.
As long as they play the DRM game, it's the only sensible thing to do. The DRM lovers need to hear the message loud and clear.

The guys on the other side always give our community the absolute minimum necessary to get enough of us to cave to make it worth their while.
I agree with lembas. Don't give them your money. In fact, send them a message letting them know why you are not going to give them your money. It probably won't do any good, but you never know.
If you are going to play this game (assuming the non-drm version is free software), at least play it on someone else's dime.
