I didn't use or care about this feature (which seems to be themes under a different name) but this is really stupid:

"On February 8, we will be expiring the 18 colorway themes of Firefox version 94. This signals the end of a special, limited-time feature set. However, you can hold onto your favorite colorway, as long as you’re using it on the expiration date. In other words, if a colorway is “enabled” in the add-ons manager, that colorway is yours forever."

Apparently this is just marketing fluff from someone that they hired from the fashion industry: https://blog.mozilla.org/en/products/firefox/introducing-new-colorways-for-firefox-94/

Mozilla really deserves high praise for having developed such highly creative ways to spend their Google money.

It's a good thing that they spend a lot of that Google money to maintain a non-Google alternative browser that's packed full of Google bits and constant calls home to various Google servers.

Where would we be without this type of freedumb?

"This is a limited-time release which is intended to embrace the “now moment.” We know colors trends are always changing to offer delight and excitement seasonally. So these will be spotlighted for two cycles of release in Firefox onboarding as limited time play to enjoy to spark more engagement and interest."

Changing color schemes seasonally, what a cutting edge feature. Surely this will get more Chrome users to switch.
