FlashVideoReplacer no longer working on YouTube?

Is anybody else having difficulties getting FlashVideoReplacer to work on YouTube as of today? I haven't been able to get Gnash or Lightspark to work with YouTube, and FVR is the best way to play back HD content on my machine.
I'd just use the HTML5 beta, but it doesn't support all videos and runs slowly for some odd reason (I have a somewhat powerful machine), and I'm not installing Flash. So, anybody else having this issue?
No, I have had difficulties with FlashVideoReplacer for quite a while; now I use html5 and as a fallback Another YouTube Downloader.
Huh, weird. It worked perfectly for me up until yesterday...
I've never used it, but is Minitube any good?
I dunno. I actually don't use Trisquel anymore (switched to Parabola after Trisquel 5.0 gave me issues). I'm compiling minitube right now (not in Parabola's repositories) to try it out.
update: and I can't even get Minitube to play back videos. I have a feeling YouTube's been changed...
Linterna Magica works fine on Parabola via Totem plugin (works with Midori, Epiphany and Mozilla based browsers IceCat and the libre version of IceWeasel) or Gecko Media Player (works just with Mozilla browsers).
I tried Linterna Magica, but it just acted weird too...
I'm just going to wait it out and see if the plugin gets an update.

Could please explain what was the problem with Linterna Mágica in
detail? If it needs fixing, now is the right time, because I am
preparing new stable release. When I've read this thread I checked the
SVN version of Linterna Mágica and it worked fine with Totem 2.32.0 and
IceCat 3.6.16.
It didn't work right with Totem 3.2.1 in Parabola's repositories on Iceweasel-libre 9.0. Totem wasn't displaying anything and the playback options (play/pause, stop, video time/progress, etc) were at the top of the screen, leaving the rest of the playback section empty.
Also, I doubt that the playback options were supposed to be there since Linterna provides its own.

Thank you. I'll try to investigate and fix the issue.

I've was able to test Parabola in a virtual machine. Totem was unable to
play flv and mp4 video clips, complaining about missing GStreamer
plugins that handle the H.264 and Sorenson Spark (H.263) codecs. I
installed all gstreamer-*-plugins packages. There is nothing I can do to
fix this. I had similar problems with WebM playback, but after all
available GStreamer plugins were installed, it worked.
I was unable to reproduce the problem with the displacement of the
controls.
I've tested both the stable (0.0.10-2) and the svn-trunk version of
Linterna Mágica and some clips seemed to work, but most of the time
extracted links were incomplete. Epiphany 3.x.x in Parabola behaved like
Iceweasel. The bigger problem was that older versions of both
Iceweasel/IceCat/Abrowser/Firefox and Epiphany worked fine.
Meanwhile YouTube totally broke. The new working code in SVN trunk seems
to be working fine with Parabola. The missing codecs issue remains. I
guess they might be missing because of the patent issues they have.
I have used http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/87011 and it worked fine except for totem. HTML5 worked for literally all videos.
Yup, it hasn't worked for me as well. I'm using Midori for the meantime to watch my vids while I wait for the dev to update the add-on.
Webm redirect is still working for me in the flash video replacer. The videos it replaces though not so much.
Yeah, the WebM redirect works for me too on some videos, but on 720p videos, my PC struggles for whatever reason, even though it can handle HD content just fine.
I really liked Flash Video Replacer, I really hope that the developer comes out with a new version soon. I think that this feature is a very important one, and I think It'll be nice if we could come with a Trisquel's supported solution to this feature. Linterna Magica could be the option, I haven't tried my self though, but I guess it suffers the same issues that FVR suffers when youtube change things around, am I right?
It looks like minitube still works...
Youtube did something that broke most alternative and free web video players, however the devs of both flashvideoreplacer addon dev, webgapps, and Linterna Magica's Ivaylo is already on it.

In the meantime, I'm depending on HTML5, Unplug, and Gnash to watch YT (although my system heats up after a while).

I committed working code in trunk that seems to be working with all
supported browsers. Linterna Mágica users could test the svn
daily/nightly builds. A stable release is still in progress.
It's working quite well on Midori 0.4.3. It heated up my system when I used it on AWeb Browser.

AWeb Browser should be Abrowser, right? Which version? Seemed to be
working fine with 9.0.1.
Hmmm....I haven't had any problems with watching YouTube videos. I had a brief issue with during that upgrade issue a couple of days ago but since it was fixed, I've I've been able to play YouTube and other flash based media like I had before.
as Horgeon said
All youtube videos work with html5. Try to disable fvr on youtube.
Videos that are supposed to have advertisements in them won't play back in HTML5.
Why dont you try?
I mean, I am watching them now
even vevo

and youtube partners too.

all this without h.264 support
Here's one of the people I'm subscribed to's videos.

Notice how it won't play in HTML5. There are advertisements in the flash-based video player. That's the problem.

it plays
...okay, that's really weird!
Won't play for me.
I dunno. It isn't playing for me *shrugs*.

The HTML5 player in YouTube seems to be working with the latest (9.x)
version of Abrowser. With older versions, at least with 3.6.16 there is
a complaint about missing plugin.
Youtube works with the latest version of SMPlayer.
You can also select the desired quality and format in SMPlayer via Options->Preferences->Performance.
There is also a Mozilla add-on that opens the video automatically with SMPlayer after configuring it in the options (changing minitube to smplayer):
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ext-youtube/
Is it Free?
It says it's released under version 1.1 of the Mozilla Public License.
Yes, same version. Maybe my hardware is a bit old to handle it. Nevertheless, it works very well with Midori.

The blocking in IceCat/Abrowser/Iceweasel/Firefox is usually caused by
large JavaScript scripts or HTML elements properties in which strings
are matched by Linterna Mágica. This is happening in YouTube, right?
It could take a lot of time waiting for the blocking to finish, but
could you try reproducing this with debug set to 5 in Linterna Mágica?
Report a bug with the output in the issue tracker. I'm unable to
reproduce this.
Thanks.
