Future of the Trisquel Software Manager

Since Trisquel is currently using an older software manager in 5.0, has the team ever thought about forking the Linux Mint "mintinstall" program? It is independent from Ubuntu with a decent interface, so I'm sure with some tweaking that Trisquel could fork it and add their own feel to it.
The latest one (Katya) is based off of Ubuntu 11.04: http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/main/m/mintinstall/
