A desktop client for GNU Social has been released for GNU/Linux: http://gsdesktop.amayaos.com/index.en.html

When might we see this become available in the Trisquel repos?

I really hate to split hairs, but maybe it's a good idea to check the spelling of the English translation first. ;-D It could, for example, rather look like:

"GSD is a simple GnuSocial client for GNU/Linux. It is written in C and GTK and has been released as free software (i.e. it respects your freedom!)."

//edit:

"Install
Dependencies
GnuSocialDesktop needs the libcurl-dev and libgtk2.0-dev packages. You can install them in Debian using APT.

Compile
GnuSocialDesktop can be compiled using "make" and can be executed using "./gsd"."

Not for Trisquel 8 (unless somebody here specifically works on GSD's packaging). If GSD enters Debian's repositories within the next two years, then GSD will certainly be in Trisquel 9.

If it is GNU, it should rather follow GNU coding standards:
https://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/index.html#Top

especially in regards to releases:
https://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/Managing-Releases.html#Managing-Releases

And remember, I tried it, we met on https://gnusocial.club recently and I am looking forward to its development.
