Have you tested genuen 6.0.0? I tested it on a notebook. Pci wifi card did not work. Aligns with the fact that the wifi card requires non free software in order to work. I connected an usb ar9271 wifi card. That did not work either. In fact I am unable to locate any network manager on the system. Is there one? For some reason touchpad tapping does not work. Running trisquel on the same computer and touchpad tapping works. Thank you.

You might need that package for it work.
If you do have it installed, its something to report to the dev himself.
He is on the devuan forums sometimes.
Also forgot to mention, if you have ath9k wifi card built inside, I once used daedalus version of Genuen and got it working. But because of the debian usrmerge crap... I struggled to upgrade it directly from deadalus to excalibur and i haven't tried to reinstall since. It was just a huge pain in the butt too much.
Not sure why debian doesn't force that package installed if you upgrade.
