I'm interested in using Trisquel on Korora laptop, made available by Thinkpenguin.

I usually use hibernation on my laptop and I'm curious if hibernation works with the combination of Korora and the latest version of Trisquel. Did anyone try this? Does using GNOME shell complicate the problem?

Yes- both hibernate and suspend work in Trisquel 7 on the Korora. By default it's disabled in GNOME, but you can run pm-hibernate from the terminal still. I think there might also be a way to enable it although unsure if it works with Trisquel 7. I know some of the prior hacks for GNOME aren't or weren't working in a recent release because GNOME removed something or other. In any event you can certainly add an icon to the desktop still or similar place that links to pm-hibernate.
