How to change Panel style on Desktop?

Hi,

I had been hitting my keys and I must've executed some command or shortcut because the panel on my desktop had changed from the one in the first image I've attached to the second image attached.

I honestly prefer the panel style in the second image and would rather have that as my main. After rebooting, it returned back to the normal one I've always had used before and I can't seem to find any options to change the panel style anywhere. I've checked everywhere within the 'Look and Feel' section.

This probably might end up being a noobie question, but is there anywhere to choose and make the latter theme panel permanent?

Haha - Your description gave me a mental picture of someone with their eyes closed and their hands just flying around banging on the keys at random. But: Is that really a "style" versus just moving the icons around? Right-click on items in the panel and you can select "Move" to place them wherever on the panel you want them. When right-clicking it may first be necessary to un-check the box that says it's locked in place. And after moving them you may wish to right-click again and select the option to lock them in place. Just in case you should get keyboard happy again. :)

I just don't know what happened, but it happened.

That's not what I was looking for, but I just got my answer from another user.

Thanks anyway :)

Your second picture looks like the panel won't extend to the whole screen width and is centered.

With the pointer on the panel but not on some icon of the panel, if you righ-click and select properties, you have a check box with "Extend", if you uncheck the box the panel will be centered and not take the whole screen width.

It is even possible to do left or right alignement with dconf (not with menus) but there is not much documentation about dconf and it is easy to get weird effects when using dconf, so I would not recommend it.

I also like the panel centered but I use that in combination with dwm as window manager (it automatically adjust windows to available screen space, so I don't waste time moving or resizing windows)

, so I remove the window list in the panel as it takes space and I don't need it).

Yep, that's the one that I've been looking for.

Thank you very much @Avron
