I want to configure my Trisquel Gnu system so that when I push the Super key, I get the following beheviour:

https://wiki.gnome.org/Gnome3CheatSheet#Activities_Overview

If I want to search for an application, I then just have to type it in search area

The default Gnome installation does not allow it on Trisquel.

I use:

- Trisquel 7.0
- gnome 1:3.8+4ubuntu3 amd64 Full GNOME Desktop Environment

Thank you.

You need to install GNOME Shell. This command will do the trick:

sudo apt install gnome-session gnome-shell

I have both packages installed. How do I configure Gnome to obtain this beheviour?

It is the default behavior. Have you actually chosen the "GNOME session" at the graphical login screen? With Trisquel's default display manager, you must click the click the icon at the right of your user name.

By the way, you can install GNOME's display manager, GDM, from the package manager. You will get additional features such as the possibility to lock the screen and to get (or not) notifications while the screen is locked.

I don't have an icon at the right of my username. Refer to the screenshot attached.

GDM is installed and I have the possibility to lock the screen.

It's a gear next to the password entry in GDM.

onpon4 and Magic Banana, Thank you. Now I can enjoy my GNU system.

For other people who may have the same question, I attached a screenshot.
