How to get past log-in screen on live Trisquel 12?

Made a bootable USB with Trisquel 12. Explored it a bit without installing. Pressed 'suspend' before going to bed. This morning there's a log-in screen 'trisquel', underneath it 'trisquel on trisquel', box to enter password, three options 'switch user', 'cancel', 'unlock'. Does anyone know what to enter there so I could get to use the live system without resorting to pressing the off button on the computer? Not sure whether pressing the off button there would be bad for the computer. Thanks in advance for any answers!

Try inputting nothing or "trisquel".

Those two say 'incorrect password'. Thanks for the suggestion, though, Magic Banana. Is it 'bad' for the computer if I press the off button? Don't think I can get to a terminal from that log-in screen to shut down. Am dreaming of getting the grub issue fixed so I can use Trisquel 12 after the upgrade from Trisquel 11.

You can use the Magic SysRq keys as a last resort: https://askubuntu.com/a/997223

Recently I ran into a password box on Triskel 12, the KDE version of Trisquel. After much searching through forum posts, I discovered that there was no password and that I should put my cursor in the password box and simply hit the Enter key on my keyboard.

Hope that helps, although it may not from reading your posts here. One word to the wise - don't use suspend on live USB ISO's if you can at all avoid it, lots can go wrong.

Have been using suspend on a hp laptop with live Trisquel 11, because the live system doesn't have NoScript and uBlock Origin don't feel comfortable on most websites, change things in about:config, change search engine, leave windows open I'm looking at ... I think those settings stick until reboot or shutdown, so 'suspend' is convenient because I can just carry on and don't have to change settings again. But, you are probably right, lots can go wrong, I just haven't experienced much of that yet because in general it's worked very well for me. So, I should change my behavior and not use 'suspend' with live USB ISO's anymore. Incentive to get the installed Trisquel 11 in dual boot on the hp and the Trisquel 12 on the Dell working again. Have a used T480 with Trisquel 11 installed, which works fine, but because it was bought used feel reluctant to use it for personal email. The Dell I got from someone I know who didn't use it anymore, the hp we had bought new some years ago. Don't want to use Windows again if I can avoid it, want to stick with libre OS's!

If you are going to use your Live USB as a regular daily system, you might want to look into adding persistent memory to it, so that your changes can survive a reboot. We have a wiki on how to do that here: https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/adding-persistence-live-usb

Thank you very much for pointing this out, I'll look into it! Prefer to use installed systems, I guess, but there's probably use cases where a live USB with persistent memory could be practical.

That was my first suggestion, in https://trisquel.info/forum/how-get-past-log-screen-live-trisquel-12#comment-183159 but, as far as I understand https://trisquel.info/fr/forum/how-get-past-log-screen-live-trisquel-12#comment-183159's reply, it did not work.
