I get some errors when using yt-dlp, and it tells me to assure I have the latest version.

Using "yt-dlp --version" I see that my version is from 2022 and the one here: https://packages.debian.org/sid/yt-dlp is from 2023.

However, if I scroll all the way down that page to "Download yt-dlp", click "all architectures", and then f.ex. "Europe" to download the package, and then opening that download and click "install package" - the "yt-dlp --version" command still prints the same old 2022 version. I tried rebooting, didn't help :/

You will get the 2023.03.04 version through the Aramo backports repo:

https://packages.trisquel.org/search?suite=aramo-backports&searchon=names&keywords=yt-dlp

Aha, what is that?

In any case, it worked when I completely removed the old version before installing the new one :)

It worked, but you installed an out-of-repo package, so you are probably not going to get future updates.

You can enable the backports repo by choosing "All updates" in Software and Updates > Updates.

EDIT: I assumed you were using Trisquel 11 Aramo. If you are using Nabia, the latest backported version may still be the 2022 version.
