Interesting new youtube-dl and invidio.us gui front-end - tartube

This new project claims to do all kinds of things - route your downloads through invidio.us or hooktube, keep a local database of videos for you or allow you to keep your own folder structure, downloading entire channels and playlists, watching live streaming videos - quite an ambitious looking project.

I'm still reading about it, lot of information, it's GTK3 (not electron, which is good). GPL3. deb installer is available. Heavy development since last year.

It's a shame Google prevents you from downloading whole channels. I
liked downloading a whole channel and watching it during long travels.

That's one thing that this tartube package claims to be able to do - download a whole channel. I'll have to give it a shot, see if it works.
