Introduction and Advice Regarding Email Service Providers or Riseup

Hi everyone. I've been reading the Trisquel forums for a while, but finally decided to register for an account so I can reply to the many topics that I read and get involved by contributing more to the project.
I have started the process of software liberation. I have successfully Librebooted my trusty old ThinkPadT400, swapped the wifi card with a free one, and installed Trisquel 7. I am currently in the process of degoogling, and moving my information/emails/subscriptions to another email service provider, but I am not sure which to choose. I saw someone mention here on the forums that the FSF supported Riseup, and I initially considered this though I discovered you need an invite to join their community.
I realize that email is already flawed regarding privacy in it's design, but I encrypt emails when necessary anyways. I just wanted to move away from gmail, microsoft, etc. If anyone is a member of riseup that could invite me I would greatly appreciate it, or if you can recommend another email service provider that respects your privacy and freedoms I would greatly appreciate it.
Looking forward to delving into Trisquel!
Many thanks in advance.

I guess I should have posted this in Trisquel Users. I just thought it might have been considered off topic.
The main reason I'd recommend avoiding use Gmail is because it's too big of a supernode; it would be very possible for Google to become so predominant that it could destroy the federation aspect of email, like they did with XMPP on Google Talk. That would be very bad.
The second reason is because it requires proprietary JavaScript.
For email hosts that don't require proprietary JavaScript, the FSF has a short list of suggestions:
Welcome.
Let's all love lain.
Welcome to the Triskellino forum, Lain!
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone
