Java/openjdk

Hi all,
It seems to me that it is impossible to delete java in Trisquel ( or Linux Mint). Everytime i try to remove eg openjdk i get a message that some packegets will be removed and others installed. So when i remove openjdk 7, it will install openjdk 6.
In W-ndo-s i could completely remove JAVA. How to do that in Trisquel ? I did not NEED JaVa in W-nd-ws, and so i don't need it in Trisquel.

What happens when you run "sudo apt-get purge openjdk*"?
