Hello,
I am looking for multifunction laser printers if it is possible that they are monochrome. I've seen this https://www.thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/hp-color-laser-printer-w-80211-wifi-ethernet-gnu-linux and this https://www.thinkpenguin.com/gnu-linux/hp-bw-laserjet-pro-printer-tpe-hplsr201 but I can not decipher the exact name of your model to be able to buy it in the local market (Argentina).
In addition, do you know of any other printer that works completely with free software as requested ?. It would be useful for me to leave the mark and the model.

Thank you

None of them will have free software internally (i.e., we have no free printer firmware.) And some printers (color laser printers) and known to print imperceptible tracking dots on documents - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Printer_steganography

But generally speaking any printer that supports PostScript or PCL will work just fine in Trisquel as these are standardized languages and supported by free software for a long time.

Thanks for your help. I understand what happens with the firmware, but what I look for multifunction laser printers that when connected to trisquel, can print and scan without problems using the free drivers that brings trisquel by default. Thanks.

The part I was talking of with PostScript and PCL still holds.

This printer http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/laserjet/hp_laserjet_pro_mfp_m127fn.html uses the PCL language but in hplip it says to reuse a non-free plug-in. What does not work with Free Software? The scanner?. Thank you

Do all laser printers say non-free plug-in required? I've revamped a large list however, I could not find any that did not say that.
For example the following printer requires http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/models/laserjet/hp_laserjet_pro_mfp_m127fn.html#note11 and if I buy it, something could not work.
