Lubuntu with Calamares

I learned that Lubuntu (despite being an official Ubuntu spin) switched to Calamares in late 2018 so I did a quick testing.
Finally, I could successfully install it on certain UEFI systems. I could never install Ubuntu/Mint on said UEFI systems for many years (and therefore have been complaining about it for that many years).
If you want to learn more about Calamares, I could test them (e.g. full disk encryption and logical volume management). But I'm strongly against using Lubuntu or any other Ubuntu spin. I didn't even get a chance to reject proprietary firmware/codecs during installation, so I have to manually uninstall them.
You should test Calamares with Parabola. It is FSDG compliant and uses linux-libre. It also comes in OpenRC and systemd flavors.

My experience with the Calamares installer with Parabola was it would crash if I tried to use full disk encryption during install. I reported this nine months ago and nothing seems to have been done about it. I will retest it and maybe file a report with Calamares themselves to see if they can fix it.
Hello lanun,
have you made an successful installation of Parabola OpenRC with the Calamares Installer?
I have tried it many times without success, the Parabols SystemD Version i could install, but afterwards i wasn't able to update the system, because of key signing erros, a very frustrating experience.
It is true that certain public keys couldn't be retrieved. Maybe you need to temporarily disable signature verification.
