Mouse double-clicks on screen even though I'm only single-clicking

Hi all,

I've been suffering with this problem for months now. I've long thought it was just a software bug that would get fixed with an update. But it hasn't.

Now I'm not sure if it's a software bug or I just need to get a new mouse.

I've checked my settings to make sure everything is normal.

I'm not sure what's causing it, but it's a real pain to have it double click when you only want it to single click. Just imagine all of the troubles an unwanted double-click brings!

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks.

It is almost certainly a hardware issue. Borrow a mouse from somebody else and see.

I bet it's a Logitech. They have lousy micro switches that get worn out in a few years time. I had the exact same issue -- couldn't click on anything without opening all kinds of menus and dialogs.

Hah! It *is* a Logitech.

Will get a new mouse now.

Thanks you two!
