i bought the Linksys Model WMP54G Wireless G PCI Adapter and it seems to work in a older version of trisquel also i heard why it doesn't work with 7 since of some driver issue. If i have to buy a new card should it be on the Atheros AR9227 chipset ? since i seen it on the think penguin website or something similar like the TP-LINK TL-WN851ND that claims to have the same chipset. thanks for reading

How can you run this computer with no CPU?
i have a q6600 i forgot to add it in.
http://libre.thinkpenguin.com and https://tehnoetic.com are the only two vendors that guarantee that 100% free Linux kernels (no proprietary firmware in particular) properly drive all the hardware they sell (including internal Wifi cards). They both internationally ship.
With any other vendor, there is a risk that the chipset changed. Constructor sometimes do that: they change the chipset (what matters for the support) during the life time of a model and there is no way to know (the wrapping, in particular, is the same).
i ordered a new AIRLINK 101 SUPER G WIRELESS PCI ADAPTER AWLH4130 that has a Atheros AR5001X+ chipset with trisquel 6 support so it might have 7 support.also my problem is that i am on a tight budget so thinkpeguin and tehnoetic is out of question but if i have to ill buy from them. i don't need anything fancy just enought to get on youtube or internet archive everynow and again.
did you purchased the usb wifi adapter? I am currently searching for atheros based USB wifi adapter in my area, buying from thinkpenguin and technoetic is not an option for me. tbe TP-Link WN722N in my area appears to have the v2 or the realtek chipset so I cannot buy it. Atheros chipset allows the chip to be in AP+STA mode I will be extending my wifi coverage..
no i don't buy wifi adapters i know people do it because its easy to use but i perf pci/pcie cards since people can't unplug them unless you unscrew the whole computer apart but the card i bought worked (AIRLINK 101 SUPER G WIRELESS PCI ADAPTER AWLH4130). i am not a expert i would maybe ask around or look at h-node and ask on forum or the irc if things still work on the verison you use.
