New Edge open source

Hi, I wanted to know that new open source Edge based on Chromium is secure or does it contain non-free components ?
Here is .deb file for debian and trisquel packages.
I'm pretty sure Edge is proprietary. Who told you it is "open source"?
As an alternative, I would suggest ungoogled-chromium, which is a version of Chromium that doesn't make requests to Google servers. Or Falkon, if you want to try a browser based on the Chromium engine, but with a different UI. However, I would not recommend installing Falkon from the Trisquel repo, because qtwebengine isn't kept up to date.
I see no reason to trust a program from Microsoft. With so many browsers out there to chosoe from why take the risk ?
Hi SabirSaleem90, Goggle bases Chrome on Chromium but adds various proprietary elements to it. It's most likely that Microsoft does the same with Edge. Chromium is mostly free code (or "open source"), although there are some issues that still prevent it being packaged in the repos of Trisquel and other freedom-respecting GNU/Linux distros:
https://wiki.hyperbola.info/doku.php?id=en:main:chromiums_freedom_flaws
It would be great if someone with the skills could volunteer to maintain a liberated version of Chromium, as Ruben does with Firefox:
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/abrowser-help
Then that version could be packaged for Trisquel.
That would be ungoogled-chromium ( https://ungoogled-software.github.io ), if Luke R. (co-founder of Hyperbola) is right and if I properly understand him.
It is certainly the closest to libre software out of all the chromium forks.
It is libre software. The only proprietary component of chromium is unrar, which ungoogled-chromium strips out. And it also disables all queries to Google, so it won't download proprietary stuff either (like Chromium did once).
can you help me how can I install ungoogled chromium
Hi SabirSaleem, what you saw is not coincidence as Microsoft indeed mentioned "open source" words in the web page you asked. Before this continues, I think it's wise to remind myself and everyone about important difference between the terms "Free Software" and "Open Source". We, the Free Software Community, say it is "Free Software" or sometimes we say it "Libre Software" and we do not (or prefer not to) say "Open Source" because we are very careful in this regard.
However, Edge is neither free software nor open source.
I've tested myself Ungoogled Chromium a few weeks ago, and i can't recommend it since installing plugins/addons/extensions is crippled and a total mess, because Google doesn't like people ungoogling Chromium, and took the time to make things harder whenever possible to those that do, the other issue being that (as far as i know) only Google hosts and manages extensions for Chromium and Chrome browsers. At least Mozilla won't stop you from easily installing extensions from their addon site if you use a Firefox fork.
Also as stated already, Edge is NOT "open source", even less free, the fact MS ported and compiled it for Linux systems doesn't make it free, there's no repository to be seen in that website, only installation binaries.
I installed the extension at https://github.com/NeverDecaf/chromium-web-store (following the advice given there), after that I had no problem installing Ublock Origin, NoScript and Javascript Restrictor from the Chrome extension store.
I recently noticed that, with Ungoogled Chromium, when in a Jitsi call, there is an option "share audio" that does not appear when using Abrowser for the same page exactly, even with all extensions disabled. So there is at least one example of Free Software for which Ungoogled Chromium has some advantage over Abrowser.
Yes, that's why I have Ungoogled Chromium installed. It works better for video calls. I do not use any addons.
Yes, All of you for your advices and opinions I got your points right now I am using abrowser from trisquel packages.:)
can somebody help me how can I install ungoogled chromium

ungoogled-chromium now has a repo with fairly up to date releases for Debian based distros. If you are on the Trisquel 10 beta, you can use the instructions for adding the Ubuntu focal repo here: https://github.com/ungoogled-software/ungoogled-chromium-debian
The last release was 3 weeks ago. Hopefully they don't let it get far behind at all.
Seems like they are doing a much better job keeping it updated than they were a few months ago, but they are still slightly behind it seems. Previously I think they were basing their package on Debian's Chromium packaging and Debian doesn't update Chromium very often (hence why they recommend against using it)
My preferred method of installing ungoogled-chromium is via Flatpak: https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.github.Eloston.UngoogledChromium. I should warn you that Flathub has a lot of proprietary software, so be careful if you install other stuff from there.
Guix is also a good option, but I found Flatpak more convenient.
Yes also we can get .tar.gz and convert it to .deb via alien.
But does ungoogled chromium contains non free add-ons like winrar as some comments I found but fsf endorsed it.
Any Helpful comments would be appreciated

There is no binary tgz (Slackware package) that I'm aware of. But why would you want to use alien? There are already deb packages, though unfortunately they are not kept up to date, which is why I suggest using Flatpak or Guix.
And ungoogled-chromium doesn't contain any proprietary software.
Basically the reason I am concerned
recently few Months ago GNU Removed Ungoogled Chromium see below
https://guix.gnu.org/packages/ungoogled-chromium-93.0.4577.82-0.3f62dbc/
Just type in google guix Ungoogled Chromium
Also see
Sorry it is updated I can see here below
https://guix.gnu.org/en/packages/ungoogled-chromium-95.0.4638.69-1/
ungoogled-chromium does not contain Widevine. If you go out of your way to install Widevine, it will work, but ungoogled-chromium does not do that for you.
Yes I see also GUIX endorsed it in their packages...
Thank you.
