No progress bar for file copying. Shows finished while its not

Hello
I have the following problem:
When I go copy any files from my PC to SD card, it automatically shows that they are copied.
It doesn't show me any progress bar of it.
In fact, they are still being copied in the background. If I wait long enough, it will end silently and file will be fine.
Otherwise, the files remain broken if I unmount SD card too early.
It let me unmount the SD card during the process, leaving me with broken files again.
Anyone knows how to have that progress bar dialog, to see how many files are already copied and when they will be finished approximately?
