Hello all,
The other day I tried to get rid of LibreOffice and install OpenOffice being that I like the look and feel of OpenOffice better than LibreOffice. So I removed LibreOffice using Synaptic, but when I went to install OpenOffice, it said it needed to have LibreOffice installed to do it?
Is there a reason why one cannot just install OpenOffice?

LibreOffice replaced OpenOffice.org in Ubuntu, that decision was made
almost a minute after the LibreOffice project started:

As such, Trisquel *doesn't have any Apache OpenOffice packages*. You may
find .deb packages on the site directly or via some PPA, if you do make
sure you find a solution for "Ubuntu 12.04" as that's what Trisquel 6 is
based on.
I am not sure if Apache OpenOffice packages would fit the criteria for
inclusion in Trisquel, but honestly I personally only have time to focus
on one suite and seing the rapid progress, bug fixing and community that
has built around LibreOffice, I am confident that was a good decision
for Ubuntu and ultimately for Trisquel.
