OwnCloud devs fork and start NextCloud: another LibreOffice?

It's been reported that Frank and a bunch of the other core devs have forked ownCloud:

To me, this seems like good news, as the future of ownCloud was already in a fair bit of doubt, and NextCloud is being promoted as a drop-in replacement, licensed under GNU AGPLv3. Will we see NextCloud server and client components turning up in the Trisquel repos anytime soon?
I should have added in the OP, from the list of improvements released in June in NextCloud 9, it looks from the outside like a similar situation to OpenOffice/ LibreOffice, where the company controlling trademarks and funding were holding back progress and frustrating the dev community (both volunteer and paid). I should also have added, for the record, NextCloud isn't a great name. I would have kept "own" and replaced "Cloud" with a word describing what the tool actually doe, which isprimarily file storage and multi-device sync (ownCloud is one of the more widely used libre alternative to DropBox etc).
