how come?
Latest version is still under a free license:

These seem to be at least two different ants here: "Ant Download Manager" by Joey Allard vs. "Ant Video Downloader" by a company named "ant.com". The latter comes with the explicit prohibition of modifying the software, although the former only works on "Windows platforms".

Ant stories always give me goose bumps anyway.
Thank you I was starting to doubt when I read MPL 2.0
So, yeah seems like we were pointing to different things using the same name, ant.com seems problematic.
They both seem to require antDM, a proprietary Windows software title, to be installed in order to work.
At Mozilla's site it says "Source code released under All Rights Reserved." I can't find the source code either.

Also this article states that it at least once tracked users' browsing habits. https://www.computerworld.com/article/2469893/defending-against-firefox-extensions-that-may-spy-on-you.html
Ant Video Downloader has an EULA now that doesn't look very freedom respecting: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/eula/?utm_content=search&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=addons.mozilla.org
Also, the Mozilla Add-ons page says this only works with Windows software: "Companion application is temporary Windows only, version for other systems is under development." - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloader-player/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search
This would probably best be reported by clicking on the "Issues" link on the side of the website.
