Reverting to older versions of packages

Hi, I think a recent update (via the Update Manager) broke my FlashVideoReplacer. I unfortunately did not read what updates were going to happen before I hit go so I cannot be 100% sure an update is what broke it, but it was working prior to the update so that is my hunch. (It was working 5 days ago before I went out of town, and I did an update when I came back and now it is broken.) Unfortunately the history in Synaptic does not appear to cover updates done in the Update Manager so I can't check when the package was updated last, unless someone knows another way.
Synaptic says you can force it to use older versions of packages, but I am looking and the option (Ctrl+E, it is in the Package menu) is disabled. I also cannot view the changelog (I get a message 'This change is not coming from a source that supports changelogs.')
Any ideas on what I can do? It was so great watching YouTube videos before...
Thanks!
I realized that I wasn't using the development version of FVR and my issues were due to a change on YouTube's side. So, my problem is fixed but I am still curious as to how to revert to old versions of packages :)
If you want to install a version other then the latest you go into the package menu and select "force version" pick the version you want then lock it.
That option is disabled.
