Suggestion: Add "About Trisquel" or "About This Software" item

I realize that during the install process there's a sequential Welcome presentation that walks newbies through what Trisquel is, how to update the software, encourages them to join the community, etc.

But what if the user had walked away during the process, or ignored or closed the slides? What if the user is encountering Trisquel for the first time after it has already been installed, like being curious about a friend's computer who then hands it over to explore, or having bought a PC on which Trisquel has been pre-installed?

The most Trisquel has is an "About MATE" window. In isolation I think that's even more confusing to newbies.

So I suggest having an item in the System menu that says "About Trisquel", "About Your Software", "About This Computer" or the like. Probably the easiest thing to do from a developer standpoint is just to have that launch the Welcome presentation, either in Abrowser, or LibreOffice Impress, or in its own dedicated mini-app window that is basically a gif player or something.

I agree with this.
