I would like to make it clear that this long post, the links following these paragraphs, reflect in no way the views and opinions of the Trisquel community and the Free Software Foundation.

Though mentioning only “Digital Rights Freedom” would be somewhat irrelevant and futile, this why i have included other links and resources. One cannot ignore the fact that the Palestinians are denied the most basic human rights under international law.

Surveillance of Palestinians and the Fight for Digital Rights

https://al-shabaka.org/summaries/surveillance-palestinians-fight-digital-rights/

Extracts :

Surveillance of Palestinians has always been part of Israel’s colonial project, but new technologies have made this surveillance even more intrusive and widespread. Israel particularly uses social media to monitor what individual Palestinians say and do, as well as to gather and analyze information on attitudes among the Palestinian public more broadly.

Palestinian anger in response to Israeli incursions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque that began in October 2015 spurred Israel to surveil Palestinian social media accounts at an unprecedented scale. It then arrested around 800 Palestinians because of their posts, particularly on Facebook.

The arrests are the result of the use of algorithms that build profiles of what Israel views as likely attackers. Israel also hacks Facebook accounts to gain access to private information, which it then uses as leverage against Palestinian users. Such intrusions are enabled by the fact that Israel controls the entire telecommunications infrastructure used by Palestinian companies and internet service providers.

Facebook touts itself as a platform in the service of all. However, Facebook has a pro-Israel bias. One of its rules regarding moderating content, for instance, explains that “people must not praise, support, or represent a member…of a terrorist organization, or any organization that is primarily dedicated to intimidate a population, government, or use violence to resist occupation of an internationally recognized state.” As a result, Facebook censors activists and journalists in occupied and disputed territories, and its definition of terror does not include the terror inflicted on Palestinians by the state of Israel

The operation killed 2,251 Palestinians, the vast majority of whom were civilians, including 299 women and 551 children. The operation also caused massive destruction to 18,000 homes and other civilian property, including hospitals and vital infrastructure.

--The Iron Wall 2006.
There are now more than 200 settlements and outposts scattered throughout the West Bank (Area C) blocking the geographic possibility of a contiguous Palestinian territory.
The Iron Wall documentary exposes this phenomenon and follows the timeline, size, population of the settlements, and its impact on the peace process. This film also touches on the latest project to make the settlements a permanent fact on the ground - the wall that Israel is building in the West Bank and its impact on the Palestinian's peoples.Palestinians and Israelis began the peace process based on a very simple principle : land for peace. Settlements destroy that principle and create a land with no peace.

--Occupation_101 (2006).
documentary film on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict directed by Sufyan Omeish and Abdallah Omeish, and narrated by Alison Weir, founder of If Americans Knew. The film focuses on the effects of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and discusses events from the rise of Zionism to the Second Intifada and Israel's unilateral disengagement plan, presenting its perspective through dozens of interviews, questioning the nature of Israeli-American relations — in particular, the Israeli military occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and the ethics of US monetary involvement. Occupation 101 includes interviews with mostly American and Israeli scholars, religious leaders, humanitarian workers, and NGO representatives — more than half of whom are Jewish — who are critical of the injustices and human rights abuses stemming from Israeli policy in the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza.

The wall being constructed on the West Bank by the Israeli government is twenty-five feet high. --The Zionist Story film by Ronen Berelovich is the story of ethnic cleansing, colonialism and apartheid to produce a demographically Jewish State.

"I have recently finished an independent documentary, The Zionist Story, in which I aim to present not just the history of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, but also the core reason for it: the Zionist ideology, its goals (past and present) and its firm grip not only on Israeli society, but also, increasingly, on the perception of Middle East issues in Western democracies.
These concepts have already been demonstrated in the excellent 'Occupation 101′ documentary made by Abdallah Omeish and Sufyan Omeish, but in my documentary I approach the subject from the perspective of an Israeli, ex-reserve soldier and someone who has spent his entire life in the shadow of Zionism.

--Memory of the cactus a story of three Palestinian villages (2010).
The film addresses the story of the destruction of the Palestinian villages of Latroun in the Occupied West Bank and the forcible transfer of their civilian population in 1967. Over 40 years later, the Israeli occupation continues, and villagers remain displaced.

--Checkpoint (2003).
Documentarian Yoav Shamir captures the frustration and humiliation that Palestinian travellers face on a routine basis as they encounter the imposing checkpoints manned by Israeli soldiers. Without narration or explanations, Shamir simply turns on his camera to record the different scenes as they unfold. For the Palestinian travellers, they never know when they will be allowed to make the journey to visit friends and family, or even make it to a hospital, while the soldiers follow their orders.

--Tomorow’s Land (2014).

--Under Security Check (Al Mezan Center For Human Rights, 2017).
The film lays out the complex and onerous permit process for Palestinians patients of Gaza that results, largely, in the denial of the right to health, to ill-treatment and in some cases to torture. The stories of Hamza and Sara are heartbreaking. Even more so that they are reflections of everyday life of two-million people in the Gaza Strip who face the innumerable repercussions of Israel’s ten-year, illegal closure and blockade.

--50 STORIES OF PALESTINIAN LIFE UNDER OCCUPATION
A project by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs
occupied Palestinian territory.

Occupation denies Palestinians control over basic aspects of daily life. Their ability to move unimpeded within their own country, to exit and return, to develop large parts of their territory, build on their own land, access natural resources or develop their economy is largely determined by the Israeli military. Occupation-related policies have isolated communities, ruptured social cohesion, deprived Palestinians of their human rights, affected economic activity, and undermined their right to self-determination.
The prolonged occupation, with no end in sight, cultivates a sense of hopelessness and frustration that drives continued violence and impacts both Palestinians and Israelis. At the 50 year mark OCHA has compiled a broad spectrum of case studies featured in recent years. These stories exemplify the Palestinian experience of occupation and its humanitarian impacts.

Jodiendo I had “predicted” that you would post some “nonsensical rubbish”.

You obviously have no knowledge in the matter, apart from making a fool of yourself which seems to be your unique (pleasure) reason of being on the Trisquel Forum.

I highly recommend you watch/listen to this 2hour 30min remarkable conversation/conference between Israeli historian and author, Ilan Pappé (that i mentioned above), and Israeli journalist for the newspaper Haaretz and author, Gideon Levy, held at Westminster University in London in June of 2016. It is moderated by anthropologist Ruba Saleh a Palestian woman and activist with a PhD in social anthropology.More interestingly they envisage the solution for peace as a “one” state solution.

Ilan Pappé is author of many books, notably including:

--The Forgotten Palestinian: A history of the Palestinian Minority
--The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine
--The Biggest Prison on Earth: The Israeli Occupation of Palestine (2016)

For 25 years, Gideon Levy has written the column "Twilight Zone"for the newspaper Haaretz on the subject of living under occupation in Palestine. His books include:

--Twilight Zone: Life and Death Under Israeli Occupation
--The Punishment of Gaza (2010)

Conference :Gideon Levy and Ilan Pappé discuss Israeli politics Westminster University, hosted by Dr Ruba Saleh 2016.

Gideon Levy (Hebrew: גדעון לוי‎; born 1953) is an Israeli journalist and author. Levy writes opinion pieces and a weekly column for the newspaper Haaretz that often focus on the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories. Levy has won prizes for his articles on human rights in the Israeli occupied territories, and has been hailed as an "heroic journalist"

Levy defines himself as a "patriotic Israeli". He criticizes what he sees as Israeli society's moral blindness to the effects of its acts of war and occupation. He has referred to the construction of settlements on private Palestinian land as "the most criminal enterprise in [Israel's] history". He opposed the 2006 Lebanon War, and the view that civilian casualties were inevitable. In 2007, he said that the plight of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, then under Israeli blockade, made him ashamed to be an Israeli. "My modest mission is to prevent a situation in which many Israelis will be able to say 'We didn't know'," said Levy in an interview.

Levy supports unilateral withdrawal from occupied Palestinian territories without concessions. "Israel is not being asked 'to give' anything to the Palestinians; it is only being asked to return – to return their stolen land and restore their trampled self-respect, along with their fundamental human rights and humanity."

Levy used to support the two-state solution, but he argues that it has become untenable, and he now supports the one-state solution.

Levy wrote that the 2008–09 Gaza War was a failed campaign and its objectives were not achieved. "The conclusion is that Israel is a violent and dangerous country, devoid of all restraints and blatantly ignoring the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, while not giving a hoot about international law", he wrote in an editorial.

Levy's writing has earned him numerous awards, including the Emil Grunzweig Human Rights Award in 1996 by the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, the Anna Lindh Foundation Journalism Award in 2008 for an article he wrote about Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces, and the Peace Through Media Award in 2012. He has been described as "a powerful liberal voice" by The New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman and praised by Johann Hari of The Independent as "the heroic Israeli journalist". Journalist and literary critic Nicholas Lezard in his review of Levy's book The Punishment of Gaza described him as "an Israeli dedicated to saving his country's honour," although "there is much of the story he leaves out."He has been profiled in Le Monde and Der Spiegel. "He has a global name. He may be [one of] the most famous and the most invited journalists in Israel", wrote Israeli journalist Ben-Dror Yemini.

Jodiendo this post is entitled “Palestinians”, there is nowhere mention or even question of the “legitimacy” or “illegitimacy” of the “state of Israel” in either of the quotes, websites links, films, documentary, or conferences i have mentioned above. The topic is about the Palestinians and the right to freedom, not the state of Israel.

The existence and legitimacy of the state of Israel is a “historical” fact.

But this “legitimacy” does not “legitimize” the cruel, unjust and inhumane treatment that is inflicted upon the Palestinians, nor does it legitimize the denial of most basic human rights and the non respect of international law along with many United Nations resolutions.

I encourage you can to read the wikipedia page of Israel :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel

Under the paragraph : Israeli-occupied territories

According to some observers, Israel has engaged in systematic and widespread violations of human rights in the occupied territories, including the occupation itself and war crimes against civilians. The allegations include violations of international humanitarian law by the United Nations Human Rights Council, with local residents having "limited ability to hold governing authorities accountable for such abuses" by the U.S. State Department, mass arbitrary arrests, torture, unlawful killings, systemic abuses and impunity by Amnesty International and others and a denial of the right to Palestinian self-determination.

Jodiendo, I do not “presume”, I have linked to overwhelming evidence of Israel’s “Apartheid”policy towards the Palestinians.

On the contrary all you have had to oppose is a ”myth”. This myth consists of claiming falsely that the Arabs will exterminate the Jews.

From biblical times to the quite recently, Jewish communities flourished throughout the Middle East along with other communities, in harmony and relative peace, but where persecuted in Europe.

You are trying to present the oppressor as the victim and the oppressed as the aggressors. And by that making allegations that have no historical grounds in aim to legitimize violence.

I suggest you read some history books and get your facts rights, it is a understatement that you are clearly identified and recognized as a “troll” on this Forum.

Jodiendo, one could admit that you have brought a certain level of mediocrity to this Forum.

Some of what you have written is in itself racial hate speech .Your aim is to flood this thread with nonsense and “dilute” the message. To discourage others to give their opinions, thus shouting down any serious discussion.

Your complete ignorance in the subject makes your position a posture full of stereotypes, gross historical approximations, which implies (intentionally or not) a serious lack of intellectual honesty.

It's Palestinians who have the right to defend themselves

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2012/nov/20/palestinians-have-right-defend-themselves

Extracts :

So after six days of sustained assault by the world's fourth largest military power on one of its most wretched and overcrowded territories, at least 130 Palestinians had been killed, an estimated half of them civilians, along with five Israelis.

The goal, Israel's interior minister, Eli Yeshai, insisted, had been to "send Gaza back to the middle ages".

True, the bloodshed hasn't so far been on the scale of Operation Cast Lead in 2008-9, which left 1,400 Palestinians dead in three weeks. But the issue isn't just who started and escalated it, or even the grinding "disproportionality" of yet another Israeli military battering (even before last month's flareups, 314 Palestinians had been killed since 2009, as against 20 Israelis).

It's that to portray Israel as some kind of victim with every right to "defend itself" from attack from "outside its borders" is a grotesque inversion of reality. Israel has after all been in illegal occupation of both the West Bank and Gaza, where most of the population are the families of refugees who were driven out of what is now Israel in 1948, for the past 45 years.

Despite Israel's withdrawal of settlements and bases in 2005, the Gaza Strip remains occupied, both effectively and legally – and is recognised as such by the UN. Israel is in control of Gaza's land and sea borders, territorial waters and natural resources, airspace, power supply and telecommunications. It has blockaded the strip since Hamas took over in 2006-7, preventing the movement of people, materials, and food supplies in and out of the territory – even calculating the 2,279 calories per person that would keep Gazans on an exemplary "diet". And it continues to invade the strip at will.

So Gazans are an occupied people and have the right to resist, including by armed force (though not to target civilians), while Israel is an occupying power that has an obligation to withdraw – not a right to defend territories it controls or is colonising by dint of military power.

Even if Israel had genuinely ended its occupation in 2005, Gaza's people are Palestinians, and their territory part of the 22% of historic Palestine earmarked for a Palestinian state that depends on Israeli withdrawal from the occupied West Bank and east Jerusalem. Across their land, Palestinians have the right to defend and arm themselves, whether they choose to exercise it or not.

But instead the US, Britain and other European powers finance, arm and back to the hilt Israel's occupation, including the siege of Gaza – precisely to prevent Palestinians obtaining the arms that would allow them to protect themselves against Israeli military might.

ISRAEL'S INFLUENCE : Good or Bad for America?

American taxpayers provide Israel with more than $3.1 billion annually in military aid. Since 1948 Israel has received far more than any other country, despite polls showing that most Americans oppose such aid. Israel and its U.S. supporters are now lobbying for a $1 billion increase—to $4.5 billion yearly—as “compensation” for the recently concluded nuclear deal with Iran, despite Israel and its lobby’s overt attempts to prevent it. What Israeli assumptions about America drive this?

The lobby in charge of moving America is vast and powerful. It will raise and spend another estimated $4.1 billion in 2016 charitable contributions to indirectly subsidize Israeli institutions such as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), finance U.S. Israel advocacy, lobby local, state and federal officials, and support Israel-centric “education” programs. Some of this “education” supports pro-Israel programs in schools, colleges and universities. It also covers training federal and local law enforcement officials to focus on American Muslim and Arab communities as potential terrorist and “violent extremist” threats.

History reveals that Israel and its lobby are most influential when they can point to—or, in the case of the Iran nuclear threat, manufacture—an existential crisis that allegedly threatens Israel or the U.S.
What could the U.S. do differently without the constant influence of Israel and its advocacy campaigns? What actions can Americans take, especially leading up to the ballot box

I had “expected” you to accuse me of anti-Semitism, was just wondering when...

Not only your accusation is totally unfounded and deliberatly provocative.Simply because i point to the hard facts of Israel “Apartheid Policy towards Palestinians, doesn’t respect Human Rights, International law, and many United Nations Resolutions (thoroughly documented/linked and mentioned above).

This is a (too) well known “tactic” Unfortunately Israel’s policy is indefensible.
I will quote Sut Jally Professor of Communications, University of Massachusetts :

The “propaganda” is to claim :
That the fight is over Ideology not Land.
That the fight is over Terror not Territory
What gets pushed out of the frame entirely is the fact that for almost 50 years Palestinians have been systematically dispossessed of their land.

And more seriously i encourage you to read the OHCR (http://www.ohchr.org/EN/countries/MENARegion/Pages/PSIndex.aspx United Nations Human Rights Office of the High Commisionner) report :

Report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 (A/71/554)

http://www.ohchr.org/Documents/Countries/PS/A_71_554_en.pdf

Extract :

57.
Israel’s occupation over the past 49 years has been seriously deficient in its respect for the legal principles and obligations embedded in the right to development. Fundamentally, Israel has obstructed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination by a range of measures. It has illegally annexed East Jerusalem. It has transferred approximately 570,000 Israeli civilians to live in State-sponsored settlements in occupied territory. It has separated Gaza’s economy and people from the rest of the Occupied Palestinian Territory. It has treated much of the West Bankas its own sovereign land for economic and demographic purposes. The duration of the occupation has lasted well beyond any reasonable length for any Occupying Power acting in good faith. The diminished geographic territory available to Palestinians is directly linked to Israel’s extensive and expanding settlement project, including its network of highways, adjacent lands and extensive military -security apparatus; indeed, without Israel’s settlement project, there would be no rationale for the continuing occupation.

58.
In turn, the entrenched occupation and its denial of self-determination has bred conditions that lead to a host of other human rights violations, such as widespread food insecurity, the denial of building permits and the destruction of housing, the confiscation of property, the ongoing imposition of collective punishment, arbitrary military raids, a punitive court and detention system and a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. One of the most serious human rights violations has been Israel’s entrenchment of a colonial-like regime in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, with two separate and unequal systems as regards laws, roads, justice regimes, access to water, social services, freedom of mobility, political and civil rights, security and living standards. Taken together, Israel has reneged on its obligations to uphold, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, the right to development and the right to the full and equal enjoyment of all human rights by the Palestinian people.

I wish to add links that i forgot to add from the quite lengthy but not exhaustive list above.

Women's Organization for Political Prisoners (WOFPP) + good Links
http://wofpp.org/english/links.html

B'Tselem (Hebrew: בצלם‎, "in the image of [God]") is a Jerusalem-based independent non-profit organization whose stated goals are to document human rights violations in the Israeli-occupied territories, combat denial of the existence of such violations, and help to create a human rights culture in Israel.

B'Tselem : The Israeli Information for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories
https://www.btselem.org/

Israel’s regime of occupation is inextricably bound up in human rights violations. B’Tselem strives to end the occupation, as that is the only way forward to a future in which human rights, democracy, liberty and equality are ensured to all people, both Palestinian and Israeli, living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

https://www.btselem.org/video/about-btselem-video
The department’s early work was producing and publishing short documentary videos. About two years later, we launched the B’Tselem Camera Project. B’Tselem provides video cameras and training to Palestinians living in the West Bank, helping them become citizen journalists. They document life under the occupation and human rights abuses and publicize this material, either through B’Tselem or independently. By participating in the project, B’Tselem volunteers acquire skills that contribute to their fight for their own human rights as well as those of their communities and allow them to document daily life under the occupation.

The Jerusalem Fund : For Education & Community Developpement
The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development is an independent, registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It aims to foster greater awareness about Palestine, in the United States and abroad, and to ameliorate the lives of Palestinians in Palestine and the diaspora. The Fund accomplishes these goals through three programs: the Humanitarian Link raises funds to provide relief, medical services, and community development support; the Palestine Center hosts educational and policy analysis lectures and conferences in the DC area and disseminates information online; and the cultural arm features an active art gallery called Gallery Al-Quds, a film series, and musical and literary offerings.

RESPECTFULLY

Well Mr. here we go again, but this time from the Jews side of view! interesting enough, but squatters living and threatening your own peace, privacy and safety is a no go, about the violence it is a dispute of generations

For example: If you own property and its invaded by thugs, what will you do? reach and contact the authorities for a solution peacefully, but in this case you and I don't know the real truth, just a political internal movement, WE KNOW THAT it is a conquer land by the Hebrews they govern and rule the territories, the Palestinians are just people displaced REFUGEES because of many wars. That is a fact, and truthfully.

Best solution for it: is a two nations govern accordingly among their own territory. That is just my idea.
No titles, no owner ship!!!
Pay your annual land taxes and yearly property taxes. You don't paid those two different taxes, then the state or county tax will auction the property or continue to force you out. Nothing is free!!
