What is the difference between file t400_8mb_usqwerty_txtmode.rom and t400_8mb_usqwerty_vesafb.rom.

In the "vesafb" ROM, coreboot is configured to provide a graphical framebuffer to the payload. This is preferred in most cases.
In the "txtmode" ROM, coreboot provides a text framebuffer. Some payloads, like Memtest86+, require this.
