Hey guys,

I am looking for a temporary email service that doesn't require javascript.
All options I found online are usually unusable if you don't use Javascript.
Any help is welcome.

Thanks.

danwin1210 works for me on Tor with librejs and noscript and on abrowser with the librejs addon. https://danwin1210.me/mail/
I believe it's 25MB of inbox for free. It's a squirrelmail client, so doesn't require any js. Signup is super fast and easy.

I'm not sure how secure it is though, as I believe squirrelmail is very old and neither it nor its older PHP version have received security updates in several years at this point. Please correct me if I'm wrong about that.

The FSF lists several others on a web page, but it looks like the info is some years out of date: https://www.fsf.org/resources/webmail-systems
I tried some of the services on that page and either they were no longer running, or I was unable to sign up using librejs. If you can get an invitation code from a Riseup user, then that may be the best option.
I did not try Posteo, as they require payment before they let you use it as a regular email service. Their registration pages do seem to work with librejs, if you want to try signing up and paying them.
I cannot login to my Protonmail account unless I whitelist 8 pieces of protonmail js through the librejs extension. Once I do that, it seems to work well.

Most of the mail services suggested by FSF either no longer provide e-mail or no longer allow new users to register.

One of those services (I won't tell its name) says it could make an exception for Chinese dissenters (i.e. Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet and Xinjiang separatists and Falun Gong cultists), as long as I confess that I am a member of any of such parties. Of course I won't confess.

With the apparent abandonment of squirrelmail development, most of the non-js webmail sites I found through internet searching are no longer working, or no longer working without js.

That would be a very dangerous thing to confess to, especially now. High risk for a very small reward of a convenient online email interface.

Hey.
Thanks, that is a good option. However I was looking for temporary email, I wouldn't like to flood an honest service with fake accounts. And of course, i won't be aggregating info on me by using the same email account for multiple services.
Still, that was an option. Thanks.

I was unaware that SquirrelMail was no longer supported. A big loss for people like us.

If you want a disposable webmail address that doesn't require js, you might try this one: https://www.guerrillamail.com/
I found out about it on FSF's webmail page: https://www.fsf.org/resources/webmail-systems

I was able to run it on abrowser with the librejs extension enabled. It does give you a warning that "Javascript is disabled. Some features are not available", but it was able to send and receive OK for me.

I did not consider it worth recommending, since it's advertised as a "disposable" email address. But if that's more in line with what you are looking for, I think it will do the trick.

Oh and ProtonMail is very good, but the reason it requires JS is because it uses in-browser PGP encryption, done with JS. Their JS is I believe, Free Software. They will soon release their app in F-Droid too I believe.

This is all great news. Protonmail is a very powerful service.

Today I was able to sign up for a safe-mail.net account using abrowser with librejs. However, I am unable to write mail or do any functions once I sign in without enabling a bunch of js. Librejs is currently blocking 15 different js scripts on the page.

So, cross that one off the list I guess.
