Rob Donoghue on Twitter: "Reminded that the Microsoft ebook store closes
next week. The DRM'd books will stop working. I cannot believe that
sentence. "The books will stop working." I keep saying it and it sounds
worse each time."

"The books will stop working."

I am reminded of The Right to Read:

As time goes on Stallman gets proven to be correct over and over again.

Not only that, Microsoft has realized that any notations or highlights you made in your books may be worth money to you, so they are having to pay people $25 for each book they annotated.

"Even more bafflingly, this approach means that Microsoft was obligated to come up with a dollar value for any notes that people have added to their ebooks – because they will vanish too. It's $25, flat fee." https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/06/28/microsoft_ebooks_death/
