I'm pretty happy with my recent installation of Triskel 5.5 But I have a problem: no sound from the operating system. Following are some information that I hope will be useful to those who have the courtesy to help me. Thanks in advance!

I have two sounds outputs, the hdmi port and the sound card port. For some reason KDE defaults to the hdmi audio that I don't use. I had to change the master channel in the sound preferences.

Another classic problem in Ubuntu based distros is the sound module not loading. If that is the case, check the output of "aplay -l". If it doesn't find anything, type "sudo modprobe yourmodulename" in your case the module name is snd-intel8x0

I would recommend to double-check the volumes. I do not know why but
upgrading to Brigantia my earphone output was muted and so was my microphone
input. I switch them on from the sound properties of GNOME. You can probably
use 'alsamixer' (to be executed in a terminal) as well.

Not solved. Thanks gentlemen for your suggestions. Unfortunately I'm not
really a geek. I tried to put into practice your advices, but without result.
I solved by making a switch to Trisquel 5.5 and everything seems to work
right now. Thanks again!
