(Trisquel 8) Problems with installing add-ons in Abrowser

In Abrowser, when I go to "Add-ons" and try to install the "Dark Backgrounds Switcher" I just get directed to this (see screenshot) and no add-on is being installed. I have tried various settings in the "Preferences" mainly in the "Privacy and Security" section like turning on and off the "Block pop-up windows" feature etc.
Has anybody else had similar struggles in regards to installing add-ons in Abrowser
