I like a larger taskbar on the bottom so I increased the size. Then after switching to the Mate Advanced Menu the icon is too small. If you want to get a good icon for this it is in usr/share/pixmaps. I chose trisquel.png. Looks great now. Simple tip. That's all. Happy hacking.

MATE is highly customizable, and you can even make use of the tweaks made by Ubuntu MATE distribution (as long as they are still free/libre).
