Trisquel Failing to Install in VirtualBox on Mac

I'm trying to install the 64-bit version of Trisqual 5.5 in VirtualBox 4.1.18 r78361 on a MacBook Pro running OS X v10.7.4. The installation starts fine, but then hangs at this step and never moves forward:
log-output -t laptop-detect
Has anyone run into this issue before?

I would try different hardware settings and the 32bit version.

I tried using both a VDI and VMDK hard drive file type, and both the 32 and 64-bit versions. All had the same error. Can you suggest more specific hardware settings?

Does it work with Ubuntu 11.10 ? current trisquel version is based on Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot) .
