1. Firstly, does GRUB start when you boot into your computer?
2. If so, does it show all your operating systems in the list (Windows
7 and Trisquel)?
3. And if so, are you unable to boot into either OS and what error
messages are you receiving, if any?
Andrew.
Try sudo update-grub.
If you can't boot you won't be able to run update-grub as onetchbuddy said. You need to do it from a live cd

grub does start and shows everything...
with debian everything worked fine but with the trisquel grub not.
sry i'm new to linux. if the other solutions wont work i will check what error messages are there.
thank you, hope it works
If Debian grub works perfectly you can use it. Can you reinstall Debian? Or if someone can advice you how to change grub it will be better. Sadly, I have no idea.
By the way, I use Trisquel's version of grub. I have Zorin OS too for I use a family computer but I haven't had any problem.
i had the same problem a few months ago, but then i decided i dont care about windows. is clearly a bug.
after deleting my whole system again, it works with debian only...
i think its a bug, related to windows. Or it's because of ahci mode.
trisquels grub version seems similar to debians grub version, but i cant figure out whats wrong.
Can you please clearly state
*how many OSes there are and which
*which order did you install them
*what exactly happens.
This way there might be a chance of the possible bug you describe sometime getting fixed!
first try 1. win7 then trisquel: not working
second try 1. win7 then debian and then trisquel without grub install. after updating grub in debian, i could select it in the grub loader, but with the same problem like before... it also crashed the debian installation, windows worked. trisquel always shows sth with busybox... and that it couldn't load the kernel.
Does this help?
I installed Trisquel next to windows, and I had trouble during one of my installs (my first few were awful messes), but as I learned my way around, what helped was this:
1) Install Trisquel next to Windows using manual partitioning (for some reason I always feel better doing it that way).
2) Once installed, reboot back into the Live CD, NOT the hard drive.
3) Install Boot Repair, as directed here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair.
4) Run Boot Repair and click "Recommended Repair".
Boot Repair has saved my butt a bunch, and even helped my wife recover her computer after her hard drive bit the dust and we had to clone her system onto a new one.
thank you, but it didnt worked.
i installed windows 7 and then trisquel like you said, with grub...
but when i restarted with bootrepair, it doesnt showed the option to repair. did you install trisquel without bootloader? because it seems that bootrepair thinks everythingworks fine.
Did you use Boot Repair as its own disk, or did you run it from within the Trisquel Live-CD? I had a few issues before when trying to run it as its own live CD. Also, did you have both the Trisquel file system and the Windows file system mounted? If they aren't mounted, Boot Repair may not detect them. Even when there are no problems, if you run Boot Repair and it detects an OS, it will offer the "Fix most common problems" option.
I put Trisquel, Boot Repair and Windows with yumi on one usb stick.
I just can't access Trisquel with Windows.
Boot Repair doesn't show any option. It just analyses the system and finishes without having the possibility to do anything.
The only option i might see is to test Ubuntu and convert it to Trisquel...
