i need to turn off lcd of my laptop while running normally
xset dpms force off -- don't work, tell me command not found
any idea?

The package "x11-xserver-utils", in Trisquel's repository, provides the 'xset' command. You can, for instance, install it with the "Synaptic package manager" (in the "System settings").
