UEFI vs Legacy

I remember when UEFI first came out I got a very negative opinion of it partly because Microsoft was pushing so hard for it but also because Windows 8 was even more of a nightmare with it on I found. So I never got off legacy and still use it on all my systems. My question is should I be switching ? Is there a privacy or security argument for one or the other ?
"My question is should I be switching ?"
No need to choose between door #1 or door #2; instead pick door #3 and move to a computer with libreboot and sidestep the entire issue.

See now that is something I can get behind. I was unaware that Libreboot got rid of that issue. Thanks for the response.
You do not sidestep anything with Libreboot, you still need to choose between them. To answer OP, choose UEFI. Legacy is deprecated.
"you still need to choose between them"
Not really. Libreboot has a completely different boot process where coreboot is used to initialize the hardware and then control is then transferred to a grub payload in the flash chip. The usual BIOS/UEFI services are not present.
Always Will Hate UEFI an TPM
