Hi

I trying to update to Taranis, but it would again seem that the software channel links are faulty.

W:Failed to fetch http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/dists/taranis/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)

, W:Failed to fetch http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/dists/taranis-security/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
, W:Failed to fetch http://archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/dists/taranis-backports/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-i386/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
, E:Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

How would I go about fixing this?

For me, my sources are all from es.archive.trisquel.info even though I'm in the US.

deb http://es.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel taranis main

All my sources.list lines look something like that. My GUI "Software Sources" doesn't list anything else I don't think. Try changing your sources.list lines to the above URL.

I hope it works!

I changed my sources.list file to reflect that, and it presented me with 1486 updates to download, we'll see what happens.

Thanks

Sam

Yeah, that sounds about right. Between releases, most packages are updated.

Good luck, comrade!

So I tried updating that way, now Trisquel can't get past the loading screen, I have no idea how to get into recovery mode from grub. I'm now working off a live CD that I had someone else rip for me.

Your issue is the same as the one here: http://trisquel.info/en/issues/2386
