Hello,

Hope you're all doing well during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Do you know of free video conference options that you would recommend? I recall meet.jit.si but find that this installation, as of today, does not seem to work in a lot of browsers. Why? Where can I find the its software to try and host on my own server?

Is there a reliable free implementation of XMPP for video and audio?

What software didthe organizers of LibrePlanet use in 2019 (or which would they have used in 2020) to stream?

I was looking at libre video conf software some time ago and was surprised to see that one of the tools linked from fsf.org used Google Analytics in it's web interface.

So I recommend everyone to be careful when making video calls through browser interface of some public instance of one of those "libre" tools. You might accidently run some nonfree js this way.

Which one?

It would be more helpful and actionable if you would please identify specifics so
people can work on investigating the relevant software.

Thanks.

The thing is - I don't remember. Sorry. If I did, I would write that in the first place.

Also, I didn't intend this warning to be about just that one site - at any time some other one linked from fsf.org might turn out to be running nonfree js.

Btw, I had problem checking which site it could be, because I didn't see anything named "GoogleAnalytics" in the page's source-sode. I only learned about GA being used on the site after enabling scripts and seeing GA blocked by Third Party Request Blocker.

So I'd have to run nonfree js again in order to identify it :/

However, I now found that it was Jitsi. See:
https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/issues/4590
+ it seems to have other issues, at least on android: https://gitlab.com/stappersg/jitsi-meet/commit/2d45709a6a46b488a513fbf93968791f20143573

Do You think we should contact the FSF webmaster about this issue? If so, could You do it (I have so much homework, that I have to force myself to only do things like checking this forum once a week...)?
