Upon installing and launching gnome-software, the application category buttons are missing, so applications can only be browsed via the search bar.
More concerning is that the "Featured Application" and several of the "Editor's Picks" promoted within gnome-software are proprietary software from Jetbrains. Chromium is also recommended, which is not proprietary but also not included in Trisquel's repository. Attempting to install one of these applications prompts the user to login with an Ubuntu account to install the application as a snap.
Although gnome-software is not installed by default, users migrating from Ubuntu will be familiar with it and are likely to use it, so it should not promote and facilitate installing proprietary software.

It seems that libsnapd-glib1 was removed in fixing this: https://trisquel.info/en/issues/23918
Since libsnapd-glib1 is a dependency of gnome-software, it is now uninstallable. It seems likely to me that without libsnapd-glib1 gnome-software would not longer be able recommend proprietary software. Perhaps gnome-software would still be usable if libsnapd-glib1 were removed as a dependency?
Otherwise, perhaps gnome-app-install should replace gnome-software in the GNOME desktop environment.
While GNOME is not a supported "flavor" of trisquel, replacing gnome-software with trisquel-app-install seems like the correct move.
