Trademark guidelines for redistribution of Trisquel software

Usage of the Trisquel trademark (i.e. the name and/or the logo) is granted for anyone redistributing any unmodified piece of Trisquel, including, but not limiting to software repository mirrors, hardware vendors distributing Trisquel preinstalled in their products, magazines, and users sharing the system in any way including p2p.

Usage of the trademark for Trisquel derivatives (including remasters, community editions, forked projects and any distribution of modified Trisquel pieces) is allowed as long as the resultant distributed software is still free software[1], and the distributed goods are clearly marked as modified by a third party. Modifications made to harm the user in any way (like spy programs, spam bots or any other sort of malware) will not be allowed to carry the Trisquel trademark, even if the included malicious programs are themselves free software.

  1. The criteria to define free software in this context would be the compliance with the Free System Distribution Guidelines as [ http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-system-distribution-guidelines.html defined ] by the FSF, which of course imply the compliance with all the licenses involved for any software piece distributed by the derivative (which will require the distribution of the source code for the changes applied to the redistributed Trisquel software packages, and of all remaining packages as well).
