Kiwix is an off-line reader (http://kiwix.org/Page) of ZIM files that is developed to distribute Wikipedia without the need of internet, the ZIM files contain thousands of articles from the Wikipedia the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit.It is is already packed to be distributed on Trisquel/Ubuntu LTS.
Cheers!
The kiwix-serve feature allows to server the ZIM articles indexed through a network (LAN or Internet). A great resource to schools with low resources/space machines.
This should apply for the Taranis release.
Here the ZIM files that contains the Wikipedia collections
Marked issue#4452 as a duplicate of this bug.
Also as noted in the other bug debian is working on packaging it. Once they are done it should make its way into the distro.
Assigning to upstream since they are working on packaging it (although apparently they are having issues).
The kiwix project is looking for mirrors of the ZIM packages, this contains the whole content on different languages.

Would Trisquel developers have space to help this project?
Marking as patch (needs review):
Package was recently uploaded to Debian Sid. Package should make its way downstream.
