Hi,

I tried to install GNU IceCat from Abrowser's front page link. It won't download the package.

Then I headed for the Add/Remove Applications menu entry and searched. Cannot find package GNU IceCat.

Finally I resorted to Synaptic. It worked.

Perhaps some of your addons is interfering? Have you tried that on a fresh profile?

Synaptic is so much better than the add/remove thingy.

And terminal is so much better than synaptic :)
sudo apt-get install icecat

Thanks!

That piece of advice must be the key. Now, I only have to ask further why is Abrowser Home addon/extension not verified?

Upon clicking on "More information" I'm redirected to Trisquel's missing documentation page "Unsigned addons". Submitted, as it seems, by you, Lembas.

You're welcome.

The addon signing business is originating from upstream, Mozilla. It's something Trisquel might (have to) deal with. Not nice to have such scary "proceed with caution" warning when in fact the addon is safe and official...

Hi everybody again and thanks for the kind replies.

I found the solution here:

https://trisquel.info/en/forum/i-cant-install-gnuicecat.

The issue was caused by my installing GDebi. It somehow screws up the Abrowser Apturl link. It had nothing to do with my addons after all.
