Adding software-center to repos?

I was reading the dagda-development wiki page and I saw that grvrulz had got it working under/ported it to Trisquel. Another point was "If someone writes a package helper for that, we could add it back to the repository."

I'd like to help get a Trisquel version of software-center into the repos. How can I help and what is a "package helper"?

Please pardon my noobishness; this is my first time contributing to a distro.

I would email this mailing list (http://listas.trisquel.info/mailman/listinfo/trisquel-devel). That is the list that coordinates development vs this one which is for users. You can also check out the IRC channel.

I have all the intention of doing it, but I'm really busy with my internship. If there's nothing done within a week, i would do it :)

I mentioned this in another thread, but have you ever taken a look at the Software Manager (mintinstall) for Ubuntu based Linux Mint distros? The source directory is at http://packages.linuxmint.com/pool/main/m/mintinstall/ and if you were to use or fork it, that would be another option.
