Advice for my T440p

For a while I have been using a T440p flashed with coreboot (skulls) and running Trisquel. I like it a lot.

So far I have upgraded the cpu to an Intel Core i7-4712MQ CPU @ 2.30GHz × 4 and RAM to the maximum 16 GB, and it runs smoothly.

I have two more upgrades in the pipeline

*) Upgrading to ECNE/T12 as soon as it is stable.

*) Replacing the not very good display

and one I consider

*) replacing the fan's heatpipe with one meant for the T440p with a dedicated gpu (which mine does not have).

Starting in the reverse order,

Q1) I have read varying opinions about the value of replacing the heatpipe. Does someone in this forum have knowledge of wether or not replacing the single heatpipe with a double heatpipe will infact improve the computer's cooling?

There are several sites which points out good alternatives for a display upgrade. I especially like this one by Joshua Lay: https://seiba.gitlab.io/thinkpad-t440p-upgrade-guide/#display

My problem is mainly how to recognise if a given display is in fact the right one. Joshua lists a number of displays, but when I search for them, e.g. on ebay, I am presented with a lot of displays almost but not quite similar to those Joshua lists. Basically it is a jungle for me.

Q2) Can someone here in the forum help me point one display out, which will certainly fit my T440p and which belongs to the better options (not necessarily the *best* option) and comes at a reasonable price?

As for ECNE/T12, well it is not a real question, because we already know the answer. It is more like I am just looking forward to the latest version of Trisquel to be released.

Q3) When will we see the stable ECNE?

Thanks for tunig in.
