The topics that i saw about these themes have 2 years, the most recent about 1year. How is going nowadays? i saw https://www.fsf.org/resources/webmail-systems ; https://fulvetta.riseup.net/ ; http://www.autistici.org/en/links.html.
I dont want to enter in paranoid areas, but i want to know what is going on, nowadays. This riseup mail seems complicated... and the mail.ru is only in russian as i see. I liked the openbox though one of the donations is paypal, so i dont like very much paypal.
I am curious to see what u guys think about it.
Thanks very much.

Hello again Mister Aprendiz_de_linux.

Casually, a was going to recommend you some service in your previous post.

I'm glad to have the opportunity to suggest the last you mentioned:

https://www.openmailbox.org/

It is a very good service. They provide email accounts and a XMPP service.

If you want a more complete service, I suggest mykolab; but it is a paid service:

https://mykolab.com/

Riseup is excellent but complicated to get in.

I pay for this service and I love it. They also take Bitcoin.
I wish I had the time to setup my own server, right now it seemed like a
good compromise.

As a bonus, their service also offers calendar/addressbook/tasks sync
using CalDav (or ActiveSync).

Take a look at their FAQ:

That is awesome.

I also heard that they also provide file storage; but I don't know if they provide also a XMPP... It is not listed in the features list... Probably they don't but it would be nice If they would have this service also.

Thanks very much Mister a_slacker_here. I have posted this new topic because as mYself comented on previous post: "(...)stop mixing other specs(...)this will lead people to confusion and only make them angry(...)Be always exact about what you have, and what you want(...)" thus avoiding some mess. From now on i will post only small posts and very direct approach to a unique theme. I dont want people turning mad about my posts.
Thanks again a_slacker_here.
Have a nice day :)

I use Riseup as my email service. It's really not complicated at all. You just tell them about the form of activism you do (free software in my case) and wait for approval. It was less than 30 minutes before my account was approved and active. After that, it's just like using any other email service.

You're probably looking for some Roundcube based webmail service. Ninthfloor.org, a non-profit project providing various online services with commitment to freedom recently resumed accepting new account requiests but they require a one-time donation since they were unable to meet the 2013 funding goal by 181 Euros in order to collect the minimum amount of money needed to be able to keep the project alive. If you want, you can requiest a webmail account through this link.

"This link" that you have refered when i open it says: "the link is not secure (...) we cannot confirm that link is secure". How can i open it in a "secure way and understand that link is from the site that i want to see"?
Can i add excepcion with all the sites that i want to see in same way when that appears on my screen?
I am not sure if i need to open a new topic about that...
Thanks very much.

Sorry for not replying sooner, but I was unexpectedly needed to go on a meeting that I forgot about. I will reply to your comment tomorrow, since now it's late at night, and I'm tired.

It uses a CACert certificate (http://cacert.org). You will have to add the certificates to Abrowser.

Thanks Legimet. I will see what can i do and how to do it. Thought i dont know how to compile because i used to download "EXE" files in windows just executing it and it is all.
I will create a new topic on this subject if i dont get it.
Thanks again Legimet.

As Legimet pointed out, the website uses a CAcert root certificate (you can read about this on the main page). To import this certificate into Abrowser, follow the instructions here.

Hi all!

I have new doubts about using free emails software/service. I said to my personel friends that i was moving to another email. But what i do when is to get jobs, for example, when companies says to delivers the curriculum when they have gmail, hotmail or another proprietary service email system?
You can say that i can give the curriculum by hand if the company is near at home. But what if they are far away? What are the pros and cons having free email in this type of situations? Is sending curriculum different than to receive emails even if they have proprietary emails or is the same?
I wonder how people solve this question.
Thanks very much to all.

E-mail is not something like Facebook, where you can interact with the other users only if you have a Facebook account too - there should be no problem about this. The only thing you need to care about is that the received files doesn't need any proprietary software for opening. For this, tell the company to only use open formats when sending you some educational material, and explain why. The best example of such format is the OpenDocument used by Open/LibreOffice (part of the default Trisquel installation, except the Mini edition), which is the recommended document format by the European Union. Also, I recommend you to take a look into this past forum topic.

The freedom issue isn't really too bad. The webmail interfaces of Gmail
and Hotmail are proprietary, but POP3 and/or IMAP are available for both
of those services, which means you can download your email with a free
email client such as Evolution or Thunderbird.

However, your privacy might be at stake by entrusting your emails, email
records (who/when/where...), contacts and other metadata with Google or
Microsoft.

GPG is a GNU program which can be used to encrypt outgoing email, but it
will only work if/when the person you are talking to has a GPG key so
they can decrypt mail you send them. It also doesn't encrypt your email
headers (who/when/where) as some of the headers are required to deliver
the mail itself. Evolution has GPG support by default, and the Enigmail
addon can be installed in Trisquel for GPG support in Thunderbird.

Why is them accepting paypal an issue? Clearly it is just so they can accept as many different people's favourites as possible.
I do not like paypal because they are "based" in luxembourg (which probably means tax evasion)
