Any News On Trisquel 8?
Hello,
I'm absolutely loving Trisquel 7. It runs beautifully on my Acer notebook, and this is why I'm mad for news of anything new Trisquel related.
Has there been any moves towards Trisquel 8, or is it early days yet?

As far as I know it will be based on Ubuntu 16.04 which will be released in 5 Month. Than a few more Month and Trisquel 8 will get released.
Btw. I would like to betatest Trisquel8.
Ideally, Trisquel 8 development should start now so when Ubuntu 16.04 is released on April 21st, it can be released soon after and not months like it has been.

I would like to help to develope/test Trisquel 8. I do not think, the developer would upload a test version especially so early.
According to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ubuntu_%28operating_system%29#History_and_development_process the versions of the packages in Ubuntu are frozen only one month before the release. I guess that, on the Trisquel side, much of the work that would be started earlier may have to be redone.
