Some two hours ago, I got mail bombed by Trisquel. It seems that the e-mail servers went crazy. My e-mail mailbox got thousands of e-mail messages. Messages from the mail lists I am suscribed to, but from before the date I suscribed to them. It seems to have stopped by bow. Have this happened to you too?

That was 20+ megabytes of e-mail to me with no warning. My
primary e-mail mailbox can handle only 40 megabytes, and was alread
half full, so it became blocked. Fortunately, it wasn't long before I
found out and delete the incoming messages - but others may have been
not as lucky as me and may not find out until Monday.

I may be satisfied with the forum working two-way now, but the
absence of a warning was clearly a mistake.

They're still flooding me. Whatever happened needs to stop.

I don't know if we are talking about the same, but my Emacs RMAIL file
is >10MB big due to massive email flooding from Trisquel mailing
emails. Strange email addresses create bizarre, February-dated messages
with none but strange symbols in their message bodies.

I was forced to delete my RMAIL file, and now the problem seems to be
solved. Although, it seems a really strange issue to me.

I'm really sorry about the effects of this issue, we should have tried better to avoid them, and we underestimated the volume of mail that would be sent upon fixing it.

I hope everybody can recover from the hit, please contact me if we can help with the aftermath.

My fault. I nudged my email settings, making a null setting (send all emails, but I had set my preferences to digest mode with no filtering of subjects) and now I get 469 emails, starting from Vol.82, No.13 to the present, as though the system was stuck as of April 14 ... turns out they've been accumulating since February 8th.

This is a nightmare. They keep coming as I delete them. I can't keep my mailbox from collapsing. It feels pretty much as if some unstable-minded teenager had decided to play a weird trick on us just for his amusement.

Hi,

Yes I had this problem yesterday and it was a night mare. Ended up
having to create a filter to delete the messages that were comming in
using outlook. It seems to have settlesd down for the moment, but will
see what happens.

One thing that can help to avoid this issue would be more reports from you guys and sooner. :)
