Hey guys,

So I got a pair of headphones that can be used either by standard jack 3.5 wire, or by bluetooth connection. Very useful, but they don't sound all that great. I wanted your opinions on the specs, maybe I am expecting too much from these, they were cheap but still...

Wireless 5.0
Working Range 10m
Battery capacity 60mAh
Charging Usb-Micro USB cable
Frequency response 20Hz-20KHz
Sensitivity 100dB
Impedance 32 ohm
Playing time 4 hours
Talking Time 3.5 hours
Charging Time 2 hours

I don't know how to evaluate things like impedance and sensitivity... ANy help is welcome.

Btw, what I mean by "don't sound that great" is that the bass is ok but the higher pitch is not, people talking sound like they are inside a box or something...

By "like they are inside a box" do you mean that the sound is muffled and it is difficult to tell apart different vowels? If so, then, combined with you saying that the bass is okay, it sounds like mid-to-high frequencies are being filtered out. A frequency range of 20Hz-20KHz should not do that, so the specs aren't the problem.

Do you get the same result with both bluetooth and your headphone jack? If bluetooth sounds fine, then the problem might be with the cable. If they both sound the same, see of there are any sort of EQ settings which might have the bass turned up too high or the mid and treble turned down too low.

Yes, that is the kind of sound they make. These are no brand, china made headphones, so I was not expecting anything great, but this is too bad. I was given the option of returning them and I will do that. I will later check for other headphones better suited for this.

Any way, what specs should I look out for when buying? Thanks!

If you want headphones that will last for a very long time, here are some:

https://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50x-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR86/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=audia+technica+headphones&qid=1576036624&sr=8-3

And yes they run with only free software. :)

I have some.

;)

I also use them with my rockbox mp3 player.

Also sidenote, Rockbox came out with a new version but it requires qt5.13 for some odd reason. weird right?
